It was warm the weekend we were in Santa Fe, and we’ve had teasers of spring even today. A mourning dove was cooing outside the kitchen window this morning, and there was a fly buzzing around outside the Smiling Moose yesterday – both encouraging signs.

Daily gratitudes:
The way the sun turned the grey skyscrapers the same shade of azure as the sky late this afternoon.
Looking forward to a long weekend away.

oh my god I LOVED my mother’s jewelry box when I was little, the old costume jewelry she never wore (in fact only wears a pair of gold dot earrings she got her ears pierced with and her wedding ring). The old bottle of perfume An Evening In Paris that was her mother’s (she died when my Mom was eight, so it was so romantic and yet so sad and so sweet that still at the age of 65 this bottle of perfume is still with her) that same grandmother’s mikimoto pearls, which are in my possession and I now know are worth a couple thousand dollars. little beaded indian moccasins – truly a treasure chest. when my daughter was little she came home from visiting grandma and told me, oh I looked through grandma’s jewelry box today, and i was so excited!!! she felt the same way about it!
