I miss cabooses on trains, especially little red cabooses. When I was a child and we were fortunate enough to be at the front of a railroad crossing when a freight train came through, we would always wave at the man on the caboose and the man would always wave back. This cheerful little Christmas caboose stirred up some nice memories, even as MKL and I made new ones.

Jerk chicken soup
A bath in my clawfoot tub
Slight fog

I always wanted to live in a caboose. What a cheery photo!

I love the cabooses that are turned into little coffee shops – there used to be one on the way up to Winter Park, I think.

Ah–I remember a caboose on Highway 285–near Pine junction–someone had converted it into a home, and I always looked at it with envy. Coffee shop–cool!

I often pass through Pine Junction – I’ll have to look for that. I know someone has one in their “backyard” down in Pine, but it’s not really restored.

We just decorated our caboose for Christmas, complete with a wreath on the back just like this one! It will be the backdrop for our family Christmas photo. Nice to see another one being taken care of.

Yea! I’m happy to see that you’ve adopted one of these little fellas. I’d do so myself if I had the space. Following you as you restore your treasure.

Thanks! “Adopted” really is the right word for it 🙂 It has really become part of our family.
