Out in the middle of nowhere (which you’ll see more pictures of over the next few days), we found boots on fenceposts. MKL said it was the signal that the family was home. I’d never heard that one before, but he’s a Kansas man, so he should know.  The only other time I’ve seen boots on fenceposts was along a Boulder County road and far distant from any houses. I liked this boot well enough that I might have liberated it had I been able to find its mate.
