The sky was blue today, but it is still freezing outside. I made the child shovel the snow before she went to a Super Bowl party – isn’t that why we have children in the first place? Although she did ask me if she would still have to take care of me in my old age if she went out to shovel in the bitter cold. I told her she did.

The countdown to warmth continues.

Quote of the day: “Love is what we are born with. Fear is what we learn. The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear and prejudices and the acceptance of love back in our hearts. Love is the essential reality and our purpose on earth. To be consciously aware of it, to experience love in ourselves and others, is the meaning of life. Meaning does not lie in things. Meaning lies in us.” — Marianne Williamson
