It has been a beautiful weekend for so many reasons, starting with this lovely peony that transformed itself as it bloomed. So much more to come!

Quote of the day: “I want to try with someone who loves me enough to try with me. I want to grow old looking at the same face every morning. I want to grow old looking at the same face every night at the dinner table. I want to be one of those old couples you see still holding hands and laughing after fifty years of marriage. That’s what I want. I want to be someone’s forever.” — Rachel Gibson

Tales and Travels of the Tin Man
Lovely flower and lovely thoughts. I am one of those lucky ones who is with the love of my life and in a few days will celebrate 39 years together, it seems as if it has only been a few months.

I can only hope to have so many years with my beloved. You are fortunate indeed, Tin Man.

Lovely picture. I’ve always like peonies and lilacs, neither of which I actually have growing at my place. My green thumb only works with poison ivy.

I think I have my grandmother’s green thumb, but sometimes it seems to turn black. The peonies have been amazing this year. Lilacs surround my ex-house and I miss that. You go grow that poison ivy, pegoleg!
