Biding my time until we are somewhere warm. And trying to get my shoulder to heal. That part is not going well. But the countdown to warm is moving right along.
Topsail Beach, North Carolina.
Quote of the day: “People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don’t find myself saying, “Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner.” I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.” — Carl R. Rogers
Daily gratitudes:
Warm socks
Mr. Man
Jumping jacks
MKL
Messaging with my girls
This has been a week of happiness. My darling cousin has been here, and I love having a sister in the house. We are identical in so many ways. I’m coming to the end of one large project. MKL and I have Valentine’s Day weekend at Cottonwood Hot Springs to look forward to. I bought my wedding dress yesterday. It is not at all what I expected, but it made me cry in a true “Say Yes to the Dress” moment.
So as part of the continuation of happiness, I will share this beautiful image of deep blues and whites. My wedding will be ivory and cobalt and on the beach, similar to these colors. I’m looking forward to starting my new life with MKL.

Quote of the day: ““There is no choice more intensely personal, after all, than whom you choose to marry; that choice tells us, to a large extent, who you are.” — Elizabeth Gilbert
Daily Gratitides:
My sister-cousin
Commitment
A beautiful day for a walk
Having a lovely family
Downton Abbey night
Yes. I am coming up for air. And soon, so soon, we will be back up in the air flying over and to waters like these. It has been a crazy time for work, for my daughter, for seemingly everything, but I am coming back to a pace that doesn’t kill. It seems to have been a lovely fall here in Colorado. I had seen the aspens briefly on the way to work at Job #3, but had no time to take pictures. We had big winds last night, swirling the golden leaves in the pig run, and letting the trees show off their spindly bare arms. I am hoping MKL and I will have a day to drive into the mountains this weekend, just so I can get a proper taste of fall before it collapses into winter. But let’s all remember that, thanks to a calm hurricane season (touch wood), we will have blue skies, white clouds, and warm calm seas ahead.
Walk with me, down the tiled path from the dining room. Fill your eyes with the blue. Step down the whitewashed cement stairs – one, two, three, four – and onto the weathered boards of the little landing to the very edge of the sea.

Quote of the day: “There is something fresh and crisp about the first hours of a Caribbean day, a happy anticipation that something is about to happen, maybe just up the street or around the next corner.” — Hunter S. Thompson

Quote of the day: “People who dream when they sleep at night know of a special kind of happiness which the world of the day holds not, a placid ecstasy, and ease of heart, that are like honey on the tongue.” — Isak Dineson
Daily gratitudes:
The wind before the rain

My favorite beach in the whole world. So happy MKL liked it too. It was wonderful to make new memories, and I came back with an extra-special glow.

Quote of the day: “Lies are a little fortress; inside them you can feel safe and powerful. Through your little fortress of lies, you try to run your life and manipulate others. But the fortress needs walls, so you build some. These are the justifications for your lies. You know, like you are doing this to protect someone you love, to keep them from feeling pain. Whatever works, just so you feel okay about the lies.” — Wm. Paul Young
Daily gratitudes:
All the hard work going on at Three Leaf Farm
When Kelsea is snuggly

My perfume
My super-spicy Chile Relleno Casserole

Photo title: The Most Beautiful Place I Have Ever Stood
Pomato Point, Anegada, British Virgin Islands.
I took this shot the very first time I saw Pomato Point. The beach was brilliant, wide and empty – I was all alone and I had never seen anything so beautiful. And this photo isn’t enhanced at all – these were the actual amazing colors.
