I love the smell of line-dried laundry. It brings back so many memories. My parents never had a dryer the entire time I lived at home. But I guess I love the convenience of dryers more. In some places, that convenience is a luxury, and so we still have scenes like this.

The blue moon – one definition of which is having two full moons in one calendar month – happens tonight, and won’t happen again until July 31, 2015. While I will be somewhere tonight watching the moon, I liked the warm-up show that it provided last night on Broadway near the Gothic Theatre.

Hay-on-Wye is one of the towns of my dreams, as it is has 1900 residents, at least 30 used bookstores, and a self-proclaimed king. Spending a summer there would be heavenly.

Qu0te of the day: “The truth is that there are a lot of people like you, us, with strange thoughts or dispositions or a past and we try to hide it because we’re afraid that it makes us seem different. We think people won’t accept us or it will turn people off, but that’s a mistake. I found what makes us unique has brought every person I love into my life and the one’s who walk away just don’t belong and we’re better off without them anyway. Be yourself and stick with the people who love what you’re all about and your life will thank you in many ways.”

At Two Suns, we had a few rogue sea oats that served as impediments to our path to the beach. There was much face-slapping when one of us would walk down the boardwalk and forget to hold them for whoever was following. As sea oats are protected – and beautiful – we chose to let them have their way.
